Most couples I work with feel like this

You keep having the same fight. The topic changes, but it always ends the same way.

You feel more like roommates running a household than partners.

One of you pushes to talk and the other shuts down, and the harder one pushes, the further the other pulls away.

The way you split money, chores, or the mental load doesn't feel fair, and resentment is building.

You want different things for your future and can't talk about it without a fight.

You still love each other, but you've stopped feeling like a team.

About me

I've always been the person friends call when something's hard.

I've known I wanted to be a counselor since I was 16. Before going back to school, I spent years running my own businesses, including TrainingBeta, a platform and podcast for rock climbers. In hundreds of conversations with athletes, the talks I cared about most were never really about performance. They were about fear, self-doubt, relationships, and the stories we tell ourselves.

With couples, I draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which looks at the cycle underneath the fight you keep having, plus practical communication skills you can use that week.

My husband and I have been together for 21 years, and we've had plenty of the fights couples bring to me. I know how much it helps to finally understand what you've really been fighting about.

Working with me

What it's like to work with me

I'm warm, but I'm not going to just nod along. If I notice a pattern, I'll name it, kindly, and I'll give you honesty, direction, and objectivity.

Sessions are practical. We'll talk about what's going on, and you'll leave with something to try: a script for a hard conversation, a new emotional regulation skill, or a small experiment for the week.

We'll also go deeper when it helps. Most recurring fights trace back to something underneath: what we learned growing up, old hurts about fairness, or needing to feel seen and safe with each other. Understanding that usually makes the practical stuff easier.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Are you a licensed therapist?

Not yet. I'm a counseling intern in my final year of graduate school. I see clients through Vibrant Journey Counseling, supervised by Mehik Malik, MA, LPC-S, and Dr. Kayla Bryant, PhD, LPC-S, at Midwestern State University. Being an intern is what makes the $30 rate possible.

What does it mean to be a supervised intern?

Our sessions work just like normal therapy. I see you on my own, and it's only us in our sessions. Behind the scenes, I meet regularly with my supervisor and share information about our work confidentially, so she can guide me in helping you as effectively as possible.

How much does it cost?

$30 per session, for couples and for individuals. You can pay by credit card, debit card, or HSA.

Do you take insurance?

No. Because I'm an intern, I can't bill insurance. But my rate is much lower than typical therapy, which usually runs $100 to $250 an hour cash pay.

How long are sessions, and how many will we need?

Sessions are 60 minutes. How many you need depends on your goals, and we'll talk about that together.

Do we have to live in Texas?

Yes. All sessions are online, and by law you need to live in Texas because my supervisor is only licensed in Texas.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

No. All sessions are online by video, so there's no office to drive to. You can join from home or anywhere private in Texas, and you can even join from two different places.

Can we join from two different places?

Yes. You can be on one screen together or join separately from two locations.

What if my partner won't come?

You can do individual therapy to work on your side of the issues in the relationship, and to improve your communication skills with your partner. If you start as an individual, though, I can not ethically treat you as a couple later. Individual sessions are also $30.

What do you help couples with?

Recurring conflict, communication, feeling disconnected, the household and mental load, trust, money, and big decisions about your future. If it's causing tension between you, it's fair game.
